Hello Biggies and Loyal Players of the Big Trivia Show.
We have a great deal to get to so let’s get to it!
First and foremost, I will be out of town next week (July 6th-July 9th), however, trivia will continue. Cat Hicks will be filling in for me and will handle all of my shows. Please come on out and play and be sure to show her the same respect you do me (wink wink).

Secondly, a former BTS venue is coming back on board. I am still prohibited from mentioning the particulars as they are still being finalized but let’s just say I have missed the folks their and it’s good to have them back in the fold. More on that very soon!
Thirdly, I just got back from a weekend trip up to western Pennsylvania. I really needed to get away especially since my air conditioning is out in my house. It was my grandmother’s 86th birthday, and I am happy to report she is still going strong and is simply the most amazing person I have ever met. Can’t wait to celebrate #87 next year!
And lastly, I played the Delta Airlines In-Flight Trivia Challenge from Atlanta to Orlando which was a lot of fun! I wrote down five of the questions I thought were the most interesting. This is what were gonna do this week. Instead of a Phraze That Payz, I have decided to list the five questions below and it will be up to you to find the five answers to those questions and write them on your answer sheet. Just simply write the answers in any particular order and I will reward you with 5 extra points on your overalI score.

This week’s BTS Team of the Week pulled of a rare Trivia Trifecta! Not a surprise being that they are already Hall of Famers, but it is still a feat that has only been accomplished one other time and is a feat that commands attention. Though they call Gators Dockside home, they appeared at all three BTS weekly venues. They won the two round game at Smokey Bones Tuesday, and then capped it off by defeating all comers at Gators Dockside Wednesday and at Coasters on Thursday. Need more? They did it with a mixture of different team members each time. That is impressive indeed.

The End of an Era
Hello Biggies and Loyal Players of the Big Trivia Show.
Sunday was the official start of summer with the solstice. I always remember the solstice (at least I better) as it is the same day as my wedding anniversary.
Speaking of which, I had no idea that the restaurant where my wife and I had celebrated every anniversary dinner closed for business. And if that didn’t suck enough by itself, I found this information out on the day of our anniversary.
We still celebrated our sixth year of marriage with a wonderful dinner but it just wasn’t the same. I am hopeful our place will reopen someday as it was a staple of the Orlando dining scene for many years, but for now, we are in search of a new place to call “ours”.
Enough of the sentimental stuff, let’s focus on the arrival of another summer season. To say it’s been a hot one would be an understatement. I am not looking forward to my next power bill if you know what I mean. However, I am looking forward to my trip to Pennsylvania this weekend! It’s a quick Friday to Monday jaunt to the not so frozen north and an awesome time to do it plus it’s always good to see my family.
This will not be my only summer vacation but more on that next week! Have a great summer and stay cool!!

It’s never been done so that’s a good enough reason for me!

It Was a Hell Of A Run!
Hello Biggies and Loyal Players of the Big Trivia Show.
Let's look on the bright side, At least we will definitely have a Tuesday show at Smokey Bones!
Seriously, let me take a minute to applaud our hero’s. What a run! They did the unthinkable and almost shocked the world by taking home the NBA Championship but, it wasn’t to be, at least not this year.
I’m not going to make this a Magic Blog because there are plenty already, but maybe the most impressive feat by the Magic this year is their ability to bring everyone in this town together.
Let’s face it, we are a transient town. Most are from somewhere else and frankly, this ain’t Mayberry. It’s that fact that makes their allure even that much more amazing. Honestly, I can think of two things that make this town stand up and pay attention to the others that own the other cookie cutter quarter acre lots in the neighborhood.
1) Hurricanes
2) The Orlando Magic
That’s it! The hopes of an NBA Championship and anyone who has information on where people can get ice.
How many of you remember the 1995 finals? The rally-ability of the residents of Mosquitoville was unbelievable. It wasn’t until the “Trifecta” came rolling into town a couple years back that we saw what Orlandoians are made of.
Now don’t get me wrong, It’s not like I’m out donating my time building houses for the homeless or volunteering at the soup kitchen myself, I simply refuse to let this unique phenomenon come and go without mentioning it. It is truly remarkable. H
ere’s to the Magic and their incredible run, their impact on the people of Orlando, and their economical impact as well. Please, come back soon and make another Finals run! God knows we need you!

Although this was only our second show at Volcano’s, I have been impressed with the level of competition that I’ve seen. It’s a great atmosphere and the stakes are high. I could not be happier with the turnout although there is always room for more! This week’s winner managed to not only come back for our second appearance at Volcano’s, they also managed to bring 3 new teams along with them! That is BTS T.OT.W Worthy with some stank on it!
It is my pleasure to congratulate our BTS Team of the Week….CY!.

I Still Believe in Magic…Hope You Do Too.
Hello Biggies and Loyal Players of the Big Trivia Show.
So the NBA Finals haven’t quite worked out the way the Magic had hoped up to this point. Thank god it’s a seven game series huh? Look, they came out flat in Game 1 and got their butts handed to them. They honestly did not play that well in Game 2 either, but still had a chance to win it at the end of regulation and that’s all you can ask for. As for Courtney Lee’s miss, National media, please stop comparing it to Nick Anderson’s free throw deficiency in the 1995 Finals. It is not even close to the same thing. I think a great many positives came out of Game 2 and I believe the Magic can win three straight in Orlando. They really need to account for Lamar Odom. If they do, they should be fine. You gotta believe in Magic!

This week we honor one of our Hall of Fame teams mostly because they dominated their opponents at Gators Dockside, but also because their chosen name for game 2 of the evening cracked me up. I mean, it is timely and as I have told you before, a good name goes along way with me and the visual on this one is a true chuckle fest.
As Hall of Famers, they are known as The Black Power Fist, but in regards to this week’s award, congratulations to our BTS Team of the Week… Van Gundy’s Mustache Ride.

Thanks Volcano’s and……Bring on the Lakers!
Hello Biggies and Loyal Players of the Big Trivia Show.
Alright, so I was off by one game on my prediction but I’ll take it! It’s been a while but I’m happy to see our beloved home team the Orlando Magic make it back to the NBA Finals.
Plus, I am happy to announce that our trivia schedule should be unaffected this week. If that changes, I will let you know.

I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who came out to Volcano’s Coffee Bar and Roastery!!
What a venue huh? Their desserts are out of this world and how many coffee bars have beer and wine?
Brandon and the crew were a blast and big thanks to I Peed in Your Pool and the other teams that took part. That really made it great! Fabulous prizes were given and everyone had a great time! Our next show there will be Friday June 12th at 7pm so make arrangements to join us.
Oh, did I mention parking is free!!!!!!!!!

There is a rumor about adding a Monday show in the College park area. Because I’m superstitious, I will not reveal the venue bit I will say I should know soon so as always…stay tuned!!
Now its time for our BTS Team of the Week. This week’s winners come to us courtesy of our Thursday night show at Coasters Sports Bar inside Boardwalk Bowl. They are first time winners although this is not their first rodeo if you know what I mean. They have played separately or on other teams but this marks the first time they have teamed up to take on the tough competition at Coasters. What a debut these guys had as they placed in Game One and ran away with Game Two. Plus, their name cracks me up every time I say it and yes….that goes along way with me.
