Hello New Biggies and Loyal Players of the Big Trivia Show!
And down the stretch they come!!! By the time I update this blog next, we will have a new president and a new path for the country for the next four years.
May the best man win (btw, I am aware their are female presidential candidates on the ballot but....I digress).
Regardless, it is important to get your two cents in and vote!! I know the lines are long but I feeel it is worth the wait. I voted Wednesday, waited about an hour (not bad), and cast my opinion on how the next four years should go in this country. With that said...GO NADER!!!
(I kid I kid).
It was another great week for the BTS! I hope all had fun and will continue to come and compete for trivia victory glory!!
Like i said last week, I am always looking for ways to keep the show fresh therefore I decided to add a "Who Dat?" question to each round. I have also decided to mix and match the music that is played during the game. I posted a poll on both subjects and will continue to check it throughout the week and see how it goes. Much like the presidential election, it is too early to call so for those who voted..thanks!! For those who have not, cast your vote! The popular vote actually wins out here!!
As for this week's Big Trivia Show Team of the Week, I went with the flow and decided to make a "political decision". This week's recipiant(s) came in to Coasters a couple of weeks ago and played a heck of a game, finishing 3rd in our second game. However, the reason I am mentioning these guys is because of the impression they left on me while they were there. They we're all UCF students. We had a couple of future lawyers, poly sci's, and one member is studying to be a doctor. As impressive as that is, they were also split down the middle on who should be the next president of the United States. These guys were not shy on their opinions and each of their arguements were well presented and extremely eloquent and convincing for both sides.
Its people like this that excite me about our political system. Its good we don't agree on every single thing and that we have the right to have our opinions. There was only logic being discussed, not rumor or heresay. They all had their reasons and were well informed, much like each of you. They made me feel pretty good about the next generation who will fill the workforce over the next, well, four years.

Happy Halloween Biggies!
Hello New Biggies and Loyal Players of the Big Trivia Show!
Time seems to be just flying by doesn't it? Halloween is upon us, the Presidential election will FINALLY be over soon, and before we know it, it'll be Thanksgiving. Like I said last week, this is my favorite time of year and judging by the poll I posted, it is for some of you as well. There is a chill in the air, that's for sure!
Things are rolling right along for the BTS and word is spreading! I know the economy is bad all around but Trivia seems to be a nice way to get away from it all. Our crowds have been steady and have not tapered off. For this, we are fortunate, thankful, and happy to be of service!
I am always looking for ways to keep the show fresh therefore I decided to add a "Who Dat?" question to each round. I have also decided to mix and match the music that is played during the game.
I will continue to tweak and try and remain open to new wrinkles and additions so PLEASE let me know if there is something you would like to see added and we'll give it a try!

As for this week's Big Trivia Show Team of the Week, it was not a hard choice. This week's recipiant(s) discovered the show at Rivals on Monday nights and have been present at Smokey Bones Bar and Fire Grill since we added them on Tuesday nights. They are a fun group but take their trivia seriously!! (That's a good thing by the way.)
I appeciate them for their loyality, effort, and dedication to the cause. They always have their Phraze That Payz, bring new people, and their bright smiling faces! Like so many others, they often use different names during game play but the faces are the same. You might recognize them as "Not Sure", "Better Half" or "Hamburger Phone" just to name three. However, in presentation of this award, I shall refer to them by the name I came to know them by.

You know its Fall when......
Hello New Biggies and Loyal Players of the Big Trivia Show!
So, we start off this week's entry with a question...When do you know its Fall?
Obviously, the calandar gives us a pretty clear indication even if the weather may not always, but for me, Fall has come when.......
The World Series gets underway
The NFL starts to get interesting
The NBA preseason has begun
Halloween costumes and party plans are made
The temperature dips below 70 at night
Fall Festivals are in full swing
Even the mention of Thanksgiving is a pretty good indicator
Most of all.....I bought my first Christmas present for a family member this weekend.
That, for me, is when not only Fall is here, but Winter is knocking on the door as well. Now, I will NOT be putting my Christmas decorations up just yet, but I know the 90 degree days are gone (until at least March...please??), and the really fun time of year is upon us. Food, Gifts, Parties, Fall Festivals, you name it, its here! I don't know about you, but I love this time of year the most!
Alright, I am done over-sharing with you. Let's get to the good stuff!!!
I really admire those of you who not only show up week after week, but spread the good word of the Big Trivia Show to your friends and aquaintances. That is cool for many reasons. Not only do more people come and have fun, but then they tell people and the competition gets even better!
Holy Rich Devos!! It sounds like a Pyramid Scheme huh?
Well, if there was ever a scheme whose sole purpose was to get folks together, play a free game, win free prizes, and hang out with other like minded people who also love to compete and test their knowledge, then yes...its a pyramid scheme. I'm guilty as charged!!

Hello New Biggies and Loyal Players of the Big Trivia Show!
What a week huh? The Dow continues its yo yo tendencies, McCain and Obama continue to sling mud, and the federally financed left leaning group ACORN is in the news for trying to sign up homeless people to vote.....NUMEROUS TIMES.
That's ballzie...stupid...but ballzie.
Well, at least you have the BIG Trivia Show to take your mind off of such things right?
I want to start this weeks ramblings by giving a special thank you to those teams who come to more than one show. I realize most cannot due to schedules and life in general. Trust me, I get that!
However, for those who have been able to come to multiple shows, I want to say it really has meant a great deal to me. More so, it shows our host venues just how much fun this game is to so many. It confirms to them that they have made a wise decision not just on bringing me in, but that it is you that truly make the BIG Trivia Show fun!! Trust me, your enthusiasm makes others excited too. In turn, they come back week after week and it benefits everyone.
