Hello Biggies and Loyal Players of the Big Trivia Show!
Well, once again its Oscar Night! As I watch the cast and crew of Slumdog Millionaire accept their Academy Award for Best Picture by making sure they thank everyone from their families to their Key Grips, I can't help but reflect on our own award winning casts and crews that play the BTS every single week.
We have it all don't we? A vast mixture of comedy, drama, and of course, suspense! All the elements that make any show entertaining as well as exciting! At the end of each show, I announce our nightly winners much like the Oscar presenters do. As different as the BTS is from the Oscars, its not completely different? (just roll with me.....)
That is why we are foregoing The BTS Team of the Week Award until next week as I am proud to present..........

So, how was YOUR week?
Hello Biggies and Loyal Players of the Big Trivia Show!
First and foremost, I hope all of you had a great Valentine's Weekend!! My wife and I decided to lay low and have a nice dinner at home cooked, of course, by me!! What a romantic I am huh?With that said, I will say it does not take much to burn Chef Boy-ar-dee pasta in a can. Gotta keep your eye on it! Just a word to the wise.
We had another economic stimulus package passed this week by Congress as President Obama takes a crack at trying to right the ship and add more billions to the Federal Deficit. I wish him well in this endeavor, but i'm not holding my breath. Even if this package works towards economic imporvement, it might be years before we feel its effects. Lets hope this is the last one they HAVE to pass.
Thoughts and prayers to the victims of the Continental Airlines crash in Buffalo. Just when the airline industry was seemingly riding high off of Sully and the miracle on the Hudson, this happens. This time, it sounds like this pilot had no chance to save this flight. Very sad indeed. With that said, I still feel flying is still safer than taking 1-4 at ANY hour of the day.
We had an admission of guilt, an abbreviated Daytona 500 and an NBA All-Star Weekend that I wish was abbreviated. It just goes on way too long In my opinion. As a matter of fact, the game is on right now and I could care less. By the way, I love the NBA...I just can't stand all star games in ANY sport. As for ARod, stop breaking your arm patting yourself on the back for admitting you cheated for at least a 3 year span. You only confirmed what was suspected. Its too bad though, we hoped you were different.
As for the world of trivia, things are still humming right along wouldn't you say? I honestly feel right now, we have the best nightly venues that the Big Trivia Show has ever had and I appreciate the support our current BTS venues have given us! Trust me, it matters!
Let's get right to our BTS Team of the Week. This week's winner comes from our newest venue, Liam Fitzpatricks. As you know, in selecting a team for this award, winning is not the only thing that matters. Gamesmanship and especially loyality go along way as well. There are alot of loyal and dedicated BTS teams, and this team is no different. They were the 2008 Rivals Team of the Year but, unfortunately lost their regular Monday night trivia home when the forementioned bar formally known as Rivals in Oviedo closed their doors for good. Despite that, this team has made the road trip to Lake Mary and Liam's each of the first two week's and have not missed a beat as they have won both week's in very impressive fashion.

Tales from the "Dockside"
Hey Biggies,
Quick update on our Wednesday night show at Gators Dockside Lake Mary. Starting in March, the shows will begin at 7pm and yes, I did say shows!
Also starting this week, there will be two fun games of trivia. Our original three round show followed by a two round game.
I hope this will work for everyone's schedule. Sorry about the change but as you probably know, it ain't up to me!

Happy Single Awareness Week!
Hello Biggies and Loyal Players of the Big Trivia Show!
This week, of course, is Valentine's Week. We married people have anniversary's so Valentine's Day becomes a no pressure occasion for us. However, for a great many of you, it is an occasion of great expectation as well as great expense! Therefore, I have decided to make life easier on both sexes with this week's entry. I have found some Valentine's Day sayings and other musings that are poignant and hopefully inspiring. Feel free to make a card from one or a few of them. Welcome to "SIX"burgh!!
Hello Biggies and Loyal Players of the Big Trivia Show!
Yes, I am indeed a happy trivia host todayas my lifelong favorite sports team has won their sixth Super Bowl title and in dramatic fashion! What a game huh?? Congrats to the Arizona Cardinals. They are a team to be reckoned with and they will be around for years to come.
Now, you may ask, how can a Florida guy like me ever be a Steeler fan? Well, like many others I have encountered in my life, I was born in Erie, PA around nothing but Browns and Bills fans. That's enough to drive anyone to cheer for another team. Shoot, that's a fate worse than death! Anyway, my father's brother Louie was a die hard Steeler fan and I guess it just rubbed off on me. Plus, it helps that the Steelers were really really good in the late 1970's as well.
So let me be understood, its not like I also love the Red Sox and the Lakers and the Red Wings if you catch my drift. I also am a lifelong suffering Pittsburgh Pirates fan and my loyality to this joke of a franchise has never wavered. I also love the Penguins NHL hockey team as well as the Pitt Panthers in college (though I am quite fond of the UCF Knights as well). I love the Orlando Magic but honestly if there was an NBA team in Pittsburgh, my loyality would be tested.
As far as the city, we've all heard the jokes but I'm here to tell you, Pittsburgh is a beautiful city and maybe more importantly, a very friendly city with honest people that would give you the shirt off of their backs. Its what Pennsylvania is all about. New Jersey can have Philadelphia, I'll take Pittsburgh every day all day. My family and I vacation there every year and then drive to Erie to see my Grandmother for her birthday. We will be there again this year. This time, it will be a little more special!
