They laugh at your jokes, you theirs. You wonder where they were your whole life. Then…something happens despite your best efforts to please your new interest.

Here are the facts. The show at Liam Fitzpatrick’s is no more as of last Wednesday night.

Now its time for our BTS Team of the Week. We go back to Smokey Bones Waterford Lakes as our honored team absolutely came out of nowhere and smoked the competition like a rack of ribs. Not only did they win, they tied for the highest score in BTS history with an 84. Upon receiving their prize, one of the team members remarked “its good to be old sometimes” I responded “Obviously”. I was impressed indeed.

Its Hall of Fame Week
Hello Biggies and Loyal Players of the Big Trivia Show.
It is indeed an exciting week for the Big Trivia Show as we induct not one, not two……...............but three new teams into the BTS Hall of Fame. This is a once a year ceremony and is my way of honoring those teams whose commitment goes above and beyond most.
All of our inductees have met the qualifications for induction which are:
1) Long term dedication to the show.
2) Appearances at more than one BTS venue
3) Often bringing new people to the show
4) A good, if not great weekly winning percentage
This show would be nothing without its loyal players. It is my honor to present this year’s inductees.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Hello Biggies and Loyal Players of the Big Trivia Show!
Originally, I was going to use this week’s blog to induct two new teams into the BTS Hall of Fame. Well, I guess you could say I got caught up in the St. Patrick’s Day Spirit. Now, I didn't go on a weekend bender up at Liam's screaming Guinness for everyone!!! Never believe what you read in the Star!
Actually, there are a great many Irish blessings and sayings that many of you have heard and are familiar with, and there are many others that you may not have heard before. Everyone loves an Irish blessing so I have decided to dedicate this week’s entry to St Patrick’s Day!
Next week, we will dedicate the entry entirely to the enshrinement of two more teams into the BTS Hall of Fame. They will join Class of 08 members “I Peed in your Pool” and “The Chameleons”.
So enjoy the sayings and come back to see who got in the Hall of Fame next week!
May you always have
Walls for the winds,
A roof for the rain,
Tea beside the fire,
Laughter to cheer you,
Those you love near you,
And all your heart might desire!
When Irish eyes are smiling,
Tis like a morn in spring.
With a lilt of Irish laughter

What! No Trivia Channel?
Hello Biggies and Loyal Players of the Big Trivia Show!
I have been an XM radio subscriber for well over a year now and I love it! 150ish channels of everything you could want short of a picture (of course). Anything from music, news, sports, talk, comedy, religion, even Disney! Led Zeppelin, Metallica, and AC/DC have channels with nothing but their music. Oprah has a show. So does Tom Petty. Even the great Bob Dylan (though I’ll be damned if I can understand a word he’s saying). Seemingly everything except……you guessed it….TRIVIA! There are no trivia channels anywhere on XM or Sirius.
Now, I know there is a market for it. After all, every local radio show has a trivia segment whether its sports, music, or politics. After all, it’s only been a year since myself and Curtis Earth hosted a daily trivia radio show right here in Orlando. The show was great, the concept was great, the radio station…..not so great although I am not blaming the folks at 1190 WAMT. I am blaming the antenna and lack of marketing. Despite these failings, we were really beginning to build quite an audience and all seemed to be going well. That is, until the economy started diving and our advertisers got scared. As you know, no advertising equals no show.
The one thing we never did was send a tape to XM. I really wish we had. We had a great show and XM still does not have a trivia show. Heck, they don’t even have a Game Show Network. I may be alone here, but I really think a trivia channel would be hours of fun and educational listening for everyone! Prize giveaways including trips for 2 to beautiful Paris, France or how about…A NEW CAR!!!!! Ok, I’m not Bob Barker! Heck, I’m not even Drew Carrey but I do know I good idea when I hear one.
Yes, the mystery of why there are no trivia channels on XM still baffles me! After all, they even have a Catholic Channel. I am a Catholic, and it’s the last channel I would listen to. I bet they could use a trivia segment. I could see it now….”Hey Father, Chuckles, let’s give away a trip for 4 to the Vatican for the first person that can identify this hymn”…..play it Sister Ann”. Now that’s entertainment!
Now its time for our BTS Team of the Week. This week’s team plays most of their trivia at Gators Dockside although they have been known to stray to a Smokey Bones from time to time. They brought their A Game and plowed through the competition in both Gators Dockside games. Now, it may have helped that there was no Magic game that night to distract them, but that is just a theory. It is with great pleasure that I announce this week’s BTS team of the week..

So what did YOU give up for Lent?
Hello Biggies and Loyal Players of the Big Trivia Show!
Here we are, 42 days before Easter Sunday. As a good Catholic, I need to give up something for Lent. Of course, as a GOOD Catholic, I would have had this decided LAST WEEK. However, I do know of one thing I won't be giving up again.
About 2 Lent's ago, I gave up eating meat for Lent. Not just on Friday, but for the whole season.
It wasn't just red meat either, it was ALL MEAT and it was TOUGH!! Even eggs!
I don't know how vegetarians do it! I would eat veggie burgers, bean burritos, lots of cereal. I guess I lost some weight but not alot because pasta became my new best friend.
All I remember was, at 12:01AM Easter Sunday, I was in the drive through line at Steak and Shake. Man, that burger never tasted so good!
Now for the BTS Team of the Week. This week's team came back with a vengance after some time away. If you have read this blog enough times, you have seen the team name the Chameleons. They are BTS Hall of Famers and have been with me since Day 1. They are great people and are always in the competition until the end. Well, they took a few weeks off at the beginning of the year and frankly, it just wasn't the same without them. So as the story goes, they came back about two weeks ago and won the first game at Coasters and this week, they won them both!
Welcome back Chameleons and congrats on being this week's BTS Team of the Week!
