Hello New Biggies and Loyal Players of the Big Trivia Show!
Sorry this entry is a late one but man...what a weekend! I am truly the Kid Party King!! I'm sure I'm not alone as I know many of you have or had little ones so you know what the World Kid Party Tour is all about! It started Saturday morning at CVS as the search for the perfect gift under $10. Of course, this requires the help of your own child as you ask the question...
"What does little Susie or Johnny like?" This is usually followed by "What do you mean you don't know" or "Daddy thinks he might get this for you for Christmas, so lets get Susie or Johnny a nice container of Hanna Montana Rubber Bands". Translation....Daddy don't know crap about Susie or Johnny and sure as He#@ ain't spending $25 on a talking Dora the Explorer doll for them. No offense, but that's what their daddy is for.
Next, it was party time with a stop at IPEX in Altamonte Springs for some cake and awkward talk with people you don't know. Thank God my wife was there with me to soften the blow. Women truly have an impressive ability to BS with another mom and dad for as long as it takes. This is a skill I am and will always be impressed with, and one I do not posess.
Sunday, it was our turn to throw a bash for my own little princess and AT LEAST 30 OTHER CRUMB SNATCHERS AND THEIR FOLKS! Man, some celebrity weddings don't have this large of a guest list! So, my wife and I provided the pizza, cake, and the good folks at Turning Pointe Dance Studio provided the venue for this legendary event. I figured 10 large pizzas would be enough for kids and parents . I was JUST right. Not a crumb to spare. My wife figured a large Carvel Ice Cream cake would be enough for this A-List affair. It was JUST enough as well. We were tapped out of cash and ready to end this thing after an hour or so. Two hours later, the party was still rocking! Man, maybe I should be a party planner!! Who knew a mixture of Dominos, Carvel, and Tropical Capri Sun would keep such an audience!! A small price to pay for our daughters happiness. Don't be fooled however, she made out like a bandit! I have never seen so many $10 toys! Hanna this, Polly Pocket that. CVS represented HUGE!! Some were even a couple of notches above your Child Party Default Gift. To my daughters credit, we set some gifts aside to donate to Toys for Tots. We are trying to instill in her just how lucky we are, etc and she is willing to sacrifice some of her good fortune to those who have no fortune at all. For this, I am truly impressed with her unselfishness, unspeakably proud, and makes all of this worth the effort!
Happy Birthday Elaina!! You truly humble your daddy and make my life complete.
As for next year, we will be having a small gathering. How's Taco Bell sound??
Now its time for our BTS Team of the Week. This week's decision was not a hard one to make. This team was been running roughshot over the competition at Gators Dockside lately. So much so, even their team name reaks of success. It kinda sums it all up.
